Harmony Day at Kimberley April 15, 2019

Harmony Day is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world  where we maintain the unity and understanding of multiculturalism and this should be celebrated.. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, it is also a day we celebrate the unity of  core Australian values.

Harmony Day at Kimberley  was an opportunity to celebrate the diverse backgrounds within Kimberley staff members. Staff were invited to dress in their traditional attire and bring in a plate of food representative of their diverse backgrounds, which we all shared and enjoyed.

On March 21st, Harmony Day, Kimberley was alive with different backgrounds from all around the world. It was great to see so many participating in the event, with an array of food to choose from. We were also lucky enough to have a staff member from Ethiopia share and make some traditional coffee for everyone to enjoy. The special events finished with a fashion parade for all the residents to enjoy.
